About
A small company, on purpose.
ORCA Build Group is owned and run by Aleksei Kasatkin. He quotes the job, builds it and answers your messages. That is the whole point.
The story
Twelve years of building. Three and a half in the Bay Area.
Aleksei started in construction twelve years ago and has done most of it with his own hands: framing, tile, finish carpentry, decks. In the Bay Area he first worked under the name KST Handyman, which is why some of our reviews still carry that name. As the jobs grew from repairs to full bathrooms and kitchens, the company became ORCA Build Group.
KST Handyman still exists for small jobs under $1,000. Everything bigger is ORCA. Same owner, same phone number, same way of working.
How we work
- Aleksei is on site and does the carpentry, tile and finish work with a helper.
- Electrical, plumbing and other specialty trades are done by licensed partners we have worked with before.
- Everything goes in writing — scope, price, changes, schedule — by text or email.
- Mid-market pricing. We are not the cheapest bid and not a showroom.
